Recently, the Rethink Plastic Alliance wrote an open letter to the European Commission demanding an "absolute reduction in our plastic footprint." See below for the letter.

In comparison, plastic takes up to 80 years to decompose versus paper containers that take two to five months. In general, carton does not create the same amount of waste plastic produces. We want to spread the message that every organization should minimize their environmental footprint, and cardboard packaging is the best choice to do that.
